Our Environmental Journey
Over the years we have always acted to implement environmentally friendly practices in our workplace. In 2009 we gained the ISO14001 Global Environmental Management Standard and continually look to reduce our CO2e.
As a Managed 4PL we are carrier agnostic and deliberately don't own any of our vehicles to move goods however, we have always recognised that as a service business we can still tale steps to reduce and manage our CO2e.
CCL initiatives include upgrading our fleet of company cars to electric, with charging points at our Troon and Derby offices. We also monitor and report the CO2e of hotel stays, business mileage and travel. We've implemented recycling in all of our offices and where possible our lighting has been changed to LED and continue to proactively source suppliers and products with the least environmental impact. Our people can take advantage of the cycle to work scheme and we keep them engaged about environmental information with a quarterly environmental email.
As well as tangible changes we have also joined multiple communities, including CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) and Sedex.
In 2023 John Murray joined as Head of Sustainability, his focus was to gain GLEC certification for Greener Routes, our Carbon Tracking Solution.
This is all underpinned by our environmental policy.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries in a global partnership. We are aligned with four of the UN SDGs where we believe we can make the biggest positive contributions.
Our Carbon Footprint
We have reduced our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 48& based on our 2022 baseline year, already achieving SBTi target of a 42% reduction by 2030. In relation to our total emissions including scope 3 we have made a 36% reduction.
The bulk of the emissions arise from electricity use in our offices, with a smaller volume coming from gas heating. We currently report Scope 3 emissions from Business Travel, Waste and Water and have carried out an assessment in line with the GHG Protocol on including additional Scope 3 emissions.

The purpose of this set of standards put forward by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is to clarify the best practices for organisations that wish to reduce their environmental footprint.

OUR TARGETS
We aim to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2022 base year, while also measuring and reducing its Scope 3 emissions. These goals are ambitious yet achievable, aligning with the global drive to combat climate change.
CDP SCORE
In the annual CDP assessment which measures how well we are performing sustainability wise with a strong focus on carbon we scored a B, this is a continuous improvement year on year. When we first started in 2022, we scored a D.
CDP evaluates organisations engagement with their suppliers on climate change and aims to accelerate global action on supply chain emissions.
